Travel Tip Tuesday – Cultural Differences

surge365traveltiptuesdaycuktural

Cultural Differences

Visiting different areas of the world is an incredible way to broaden your horizons and appreciate this world in an entirely new light. However, leaving your comfort zone to go explore unknown locations can understandably be unnerving. It’s not uncommon for travelers to experience some degree of culture shock during their trip. Such examples include how people greet one another, the language, the adequacy of the restrooms and accommodations, the type of cuisine, facial expressions, currency, mannerisms, the Embracing list goes on and on.

Hit The Books

Researching your destination in advance is the key to a comfortable, enjoyable journey wherever you end up going. The internet is your best resource for finding information that you need. Reading books or even watching certain television shows will also help you feel more prepared. Keep in mind that most of the world expects a certain amount of naivety from travelers, so don’t worry about trying to know everything beforehand. For example, it is not customary to tip in Japan, eat in public transportation in Singapore, or eat with your hands in Chile, the locals are likely to quickly forgive such cultural faux pas since it’s understood that their social norms are new to you. Focus on learning the basics for everyday social interaction.

Enjoy Yourself

Bear in mind that wherever you touch down, most locals are likely to be welcoming and thrilled that you decided to make their homeland your getaway destination of choice. Provided you share a common language, talk to them, share stories, share food, learn about their humor and way of life, and teach them the same in return. Move outside major tourist areas to find real, genuine locals to truly immerse yourself in the culture and learn new things.

Keep Top Of Mind

  • Sitting with legs crossed is common in North America and some European countries, but showing the sole of your shoe to another person is considered disrespectful in Asia and the Middle East.
  • Bargaining is often an expected part of transactions abroad. Learn to haggle and demand better prices.
  • Showing the peace sign in the United States is the equivalent of giving someone the finger in the United Kingdom, Australia, and South Africa. Just remember that this only applies should your palm be facing you. If your palm is facing outwards then you’re in the clear.
  • The “a-okay” hand symbol is equivalent to giving the finger in Brazil.
  • In Morocco it is considered impolite to see someone you know, say “hi”, and keep walking. Be prepared to chat for a while about family, children, health, etc.

Experiencing new foods, sights, and ways of doing things is one of the best parts of travel, but can be hard to adjust to if you don’t travel often. By using these tips as a guideline, you can better organize and prepare for your trip. Stay tuned to Travel Tip Tuesdays for more in-depth information about the best way to travel.

How To Turn Obstacles Into Opportunity In Your Internet Business

protravelnetworkad9a

You have to get in the game to have a chance at winning and then you must know how to play the game to ever expect. to win!

Without traffic, you will struggle to build a customer base, generate revenue or even build an online brand of your own.

There are literally hundreds of different ways of driving in targeted traffic to your website,  but this is different.  I don’t waste time covering outdated, costly or confusing strategies and instead, focus on the frontier method of all the FREE traffic generation strategies out there – article marketing.

Networking is a a great way to grow your online business.

Face-to-Face with your target market helps develop familiarity, closeness, trust, and transparency.

Who Is Your Target Market?

Do a key research with Google Keyword Tool.

Fortunately, keyword research is a relatively simple process.  If you know what you’re doing, you can research plenty of good keywords for your niche in just a few minutes.

For the most part, head keywords are always targeted by a greater number of competition as they are a short-form description of a market, and long tail keyword phrases will generate less traffic, but are much easier to dominate within the search engines.

Savvy marketers focus on long tail keywords and gauge their exposure by a COLLECTIVE count of all traffic generated from multiple long-tail keyword based campaigns.

You can quickly conduct keyword research for you rniche market just by using free online services, including

In order to conduct keyword research, you have to begin by entering in what is referred to as a “seed” keyword, basically a starting point to your keyword research.

The seed keyword is a short term describing your market, niche or potential products you are considering promoting.

Next, click “Get keyword ideas”.

On the next page, you will see the results of your search.

NOTE: Your results won’t be sorted by traffic, so you need to click “Global Monthly Search Volume” at the top of the results.  This will sort the results by traffic volume from highest to lowest.

The first column provides you with alternative keyword phrases that you could use within your content as well as with search engine optimization or promoting your product within PPC marketplaces.

The second column indicates the level of competition, and in our example above, nearly all of the featured keyword phrases are being heavily targeted by competitors.

The third column indicates the estimated number of searches for each particular keyword, based on monthly volume.

You want to look for keyword phrases that receive at least 300 searches per month according to the tool.  Each phrase could receive a lot more or a lot less than the tool shows, so keep that in mind.

You then want to turn to Google’s main search engine at http://www.Google.com to complete your keyword research.

You begin by entering in each keyword phrase, directly into the search engine, wrapping your entire phrase in quotes, like this:

“golf swing techniques”

The reason it’s so important to contain your search query in quotes is due to keyword proximity, relevancy an to make sure you are given an accurate idea as to the overall competition of the keyword.

Google and other search engines give more weight to sites with an exact phrase quote than when the words aren’t in such close proximity, so by wrapping your text in quotations (example “dog training tips”), only pages that feature your entire keyword phrase will appear within the search results window.

Article Marketing Traffic Machine

There are a few important ingredients to creating high performance Article Marketing campaigns that maximize the overall effectiveness of your marketing efforts, while ensuring that you receive the most exposure.

1)  Keyword Search

2)  Each article should be between 500 and 800 words in length with useful information

3)  Vehicle to syndicate your article for maximum exposure

4)  Back links from these article directories based on the number of articles featured that contain links to your website within the Author’s Resource box.

Article marketing is such a lucrative method of generating traffic to your website.

Since articles are available for re-print, where webmasters can use your content on their websites and communities, (as long as the Author’s resource box is left intact), you will also be able to build additional back links from the websites that feature your content throughout their network.

Here are the top article directories that you should focus on submitting content to:

Remember to create a compelling Author’s Resource box as this is the area where you are able to include a link to your website and direct readers to explore your own personal site.

You need to focus on using a strong call to action that prompts the reader to click your link and visit your website.

Feature within your article resource boxes free give away to generate traffic and build a list of responsive buyers:

 v    Free Reports

v    Free Ebooks

v    Free Scripts

v    Free Content (PLR, MRR)

v    Free membership (even trial will work)

v    Free video tutorial

If you want to win the game of building your list and gaining traffic you must get your articles out there and circulating.

To win, you don’t need the best articles, you need the highest QUANTITY OF ARTICLES.  (Give the best quality content you can).

The more articles you have, the more articles people are going to read. The more articles people read, the more click-through links you will get, and the more money you will make.

That is how the system works.

High Street Travel Agents vs. Online Travel Agents

Tipsforsuccesswithlynnewtravelagent

Many things have changed with the travel agency and many things have stayed the same.

Once upon a time, when people wanted to book a trip they went to see the travel agent.

Travel businesses could be found on a high street with heavy pedestrian traffic, the travel agent was the start of vacation dreams for several decades – until a new, flashier kid arrived on the block.

Become a Travel Agent (3aa)

Modern technology has made the life for travel agents and holidaymakers changed forever.

Now, we can go online and find the best deals to suit us, all without paying a hefty arrangement fee to a travel agent.

It’s simple, easy and can be done from the comfort of your living room – but the travel agents aren’t going out of business just yet… so what’s stopping everyone converting to internet holiday booking?

Difference between online  and high street travel agents:

1)  Online  vs Face to face

2)  Do -It-Yourself  vs Done For You

3)  Non-personal touch  vs  Personal Touch

High street conventional travel agents is the face-to-face factor.

With a conventional travel agent, you can sit down and discuss your needs with an actual person, and you can get recommendations as you browse.

The internet loses this personal sense a little, and may explain why some have yet to discover the joys of internet holidays.

The main concern, however, appears to be concerns about internet safety and passenger protection.

Holidays are expensive – that’s a given – and many people just don’t feel comfortable tapping their credit card details in to a faceless computer.

If that’s why you’ve yet to book a holiday online, rest assured.

Use the usual security checks before entering card details, such as a ‘https’ is the web server or a small padlock icon on the address bar – these usually mean a site is security protected, and you’re good to go.

Advantages Of Using A Travel Agent

1)  Trips involving complexity transfers

2)  Booking for more than 2 passengers

3)  Knowledge of better deals  with suppliers

4)  Great incentives given to travel agents to pass on to travelers

5)  Greater Savings

6)  Time saving

HootSuite

HootSuite: HootSuite is probably the most advanced, business-targeted social media dashboard and management tool. It comes with a range of features across all the major social networks.

Sysomos

Sysomos: This tool gives an aggregated and detailed overview of what’s going on around our brand, showing us how we stack up against competitors in terms of mentions, engagement and sentiment. The UI is not up to the latest standard, but it’s relatively easy to find your way around. Back when we decided on Sysomos, their pricing was ahead of Radian6, but I’ve heard things have changed

The Ever-Increasing Popularity of Air Travel

Ever since the determinedly brave Wright Brothers made the first unassisted flight aboard their plane Kitty Hawk, man has been taking to the sky (and beyond) so as to explore the world. Air travel is fastly becoming the biggest of all the transportation industries, allowing people to shrink the world and go from one hemisphere to another in a matter of hours.

Air travel is one of the most convenient ways to move from place to place. First and foremost, there is the speed: most airplanes have a cruising speed of 500 miles per hour or more, so you’re going to reach your destination in the fastest time possible. And while flight phobias exist, there’s no doubt that for most travelers, being able to sit back and let the pilot do all the work while you sip from the drinks cart is one of the more enjoyable parts of air travel!

There is an oft-quoted statistic that flying by airplane is the safest way to travel – and for once, the statistics are right. Airplane crashes are rare, and despite perceptions, an air crash does not immediately mean total loss of life. In fact, you are more likely to survive an airplane crash than to perish, again according to statistics.

It’s rapidly becoming clear where air travel is so popular. It’s fast, it’s efficient and it’s surprisingly safe – as well as taking some of the strain out of traveling, as you relax in the cabin and watch the wall go by beneath.

Travelers going to places recommended by others happens often.

Many plan or dream of a vacation we have seen in a magazine.

It’s safe to say that the vast majority of us book a holiday to a place where we ’like the sound of’.

Destinations tend to be spread by word of mouth, when other people enjoy their vacation and tell their friends – or the entire internet.

There are those who although vacation at a place recommended by others or book by an agent still want to use a guide to help us get around.

We book this people-recommended holiday, many of us then go and by a travel guide from a book retailer.

This might not seem that odd, but in reality it is.

We take a tip given by a genuine, fellow traveler and then reduce it down to buying a travel guide.

A guide which was probably written by a freelance writer who has never even set foot in the country they have visited.

The small travel guides you can buy in shops and convenience stores provide little insight and no personal touch of what it is like to visit a place, and what you should do while you’re there.

That means you may miss out, and not get the most out of your holiday.

The solution, thankfully, is simple.

The genuine, person-to-person or on the grapevine advice is the thing to stick to: you want to know what people like yourself thought of the destination, and where they think you should visit.

You don’t want some rehashed advertising literature that makes everything sound wonderful – and that’s mainly what travel guides are.

Thankfully, there are sites on the internet that will provide a genuine experience report and recommendation guide for fellow travelers Run a search engine query for your destination and browse through the pages, and some personal testimonials will inevitably come up.

Enlist the help of A  Travel Agent

A travel professional who takes the time to build you an itinerary has already search out the best and safe places.

Do your do diligence from the point of what the travel agent has given you and go to the internet to get further help.

The personal touch is always preferable to some generic content, so give travel guides a miss and get your tips and advice from professionals or those who have actually been there and done it.

Survive The Travel Agent Hard-Sell

Estate agents have a worldwide reputation for exaggerating the good points of something they are trying to sell and downplaying the bad – but they’re not alone. This ‘selective editing’ tactic is used by any professional company trying to sell something; the trick is to learn to see through their statements and find the truth.

When it comes to travel agents, it’s all the more difficult to trust them. For a start, unlike when you’re with a Realtor, you aren’t there to view the hotel you will be staying at – so you have to rely totally on what the travel agent says and what the photographs of the hotel suggest. Therefore it’s all the easier to be lead down the garden path, and end up staying in a hotel that makes your entire holiday a misery.

The important thing when it comes to booking a holiday is to give yourself time. Do not be pressurized in to buying a holiday in your first visit to a travel agent; even if they are offer one-day-only exclusives. These deals rotate, so providing you give yourself enough time, there’s no need to snap one up there and then.

Always get the information from the travel agent then go and check the hotel out for yourself online. Look at sites such as TripAdvisor.com, where genuine consumers who have stayed at the hotel give their feedback. This gives a much more objective opinion of a potential destination than a travel agent – with one eye on their commission – ever could.
